Angela Lavric, Plant Engineer, Sæplast
Angela Lavric graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick. She joined RPC Sæplast Americas in December 2016, having undertaken two 4-month internships with the company during the summers of 2014 and 2015. Angela is currently registered as an EIT (Engineer in Training) with the Association of Professional Engineers New Brunswick (APEGNB) and working towards her P.Eng (Professional Engineer) licence.
“My role as plant engineer is very wide-ranging, including areas such as project management and product testing. I’ve also had the opportunity to be directly involved in the new product development process, including product design, and I have carried out a lot of new material qualifications.”
“I have had plenty of support in my career development programme, both internally and through attending industry-specific training seminars on technical topics. Our plant manager carries out a regular review of my professional and career development plan.”
“In less than two years, I have already had the opportunity to represent the company internationally and have been able to lead my own projects.”
“I’ve gained invaluable experience and am looking forward to what the future will bring. I am also now getting involved in advising on how to further enhance our graduate recruitment process to help us attract the very best talent.”
Josh Smith, Group Finance Graduate
Josh Smith started his career with RPC in early 2018, joining the International Graduate Training Programme following a degree in Accounting and Finance at Nottingham Trent University.
“The training programme involves a variety of placements to help me gain experience across all areas of finance.”
“My first 18 months are being spent at head office, covering a number of disciplines including internal management reporting, the production of full and half year statutory accounts and investor relations analysis, and tax. I will then have the opportunity to work at site level.”
“My career progression is also being supported through the graduate workshops that I am attending and by my mentor, whose knowledge and experience are invaluable in helping my personal development.”
“The workshops are held at different RPC sites, giving me invaluable insights into different parts of the business and its operations.”
“RPC is sponsoring my study for the CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) qualification, which will further increase my knowledge and understanding in key areas, to assist in my day-to-day role as well as my overall career development.
“I am grateful for the levels of support and opportunity provided by the programme and look forward to moving my way up through RPC.”
